Ongoing improvements

We are actively working on improving this documentation. The contents of this page may be incomplete and are subject to change.

To better understand the key concepts of the Wuunder API, it's good to understand the different steps in the shipping process. Each step in the process is explained in the next chapters in detail.

Create order

First you create the order and shipments that you need to ship out to your customers.

You do this via the API or via the MyWuunder interface.

Rate

After that it's time to determine which services are available for each shipment. This determines the carrier, the price, the delivery, pickup dates and extra services for each shipment.

This is done via the API or via the MyWuunder interface. More about this process here.

Book

Now that we have the order, shipments and rates, it's time to get the shipping labels for each package. In the booking process, you or Wuunder decides what rates to use for the individual shipments.

This is done via the API or via the MyWuunder interface. More about this process here.

Prepare

The booking process is finished and every shipment now has a shipping label, a packing list and an optional electronic invoice for customs.

This is done via the API or via the MyWuunder interface.

Ship

The labels themselves are printed out and put on the packages you want to send out. Optionally, you can retrieve the hand-over lists to manage the hand-over of the shipments to the driver who collects the shipments.

The packages will be picked up by the carrier and your shipments are on their way.

Inform

Send an email to the receiver to inform that a shipment has been packed and is ready to be collected by the carrier or has been received by the carrier.

Track

Keep track of your shipments and receive tracking information. Wuunder will keep collect tracking information and will update the status of your shipments and orders in our systems.

You can retrieve the status of your shipments via the API or via the MyWuunder interface.
